WOK ALL YOU CAN: Celebrating Bangkok Wok’s 2nd Year Anniversary

Whenever I pass by Robinson’s Cybergate along Bajada, the first thing that really gets my attention is this little restaurant up front the entrance. While driving towards the parking lot, I often think of when could I get the opportunity to taste what they are serving.

Gai Hor Bai Toey (Chicken in Pandan Leaves)

Alas, that what if came true on the evening of April 6th. Through the sure-fire kindness of two good friends, Ms. Jojie Alcantara and Mr. Blogie Robillo, I got the chance to taste Thai cuisine at Bangkok Wok.

Pho Pia Sod (vegetarian fresh spring rolls)

What I especially like about Bangkok Wok is the mix of earth colors and gold (which is a signature of Thailand inspired restaurants) amidst the modern interior. Whether you are a casual diner, or someone who just got out from the office and looking for a place to unwind, or trying to grab last-minute groceries, then you’ve made the right choice coming to Bangkok Wok because for all Wednesdays in the month of April and May, Bangkok Wok is giving out a treat.

Pad Thai:A Staple favorite among Thai food lovers

Wok all you can is Bangkok Wok’s 2nd year anniversary treat to all food-trippers and food tasters. It is a buffet showcasing the best sellers that Davaoeños came to love. At Php 330/person (about $7.67) you can eat to your heart’s content all carefully prepared Thai dishes only Bangkok Wok can deliver.

Durian Tako

Usually, I’m really picky when it comes to Thai food since not all venue can deliver a close-to-authentic taste. Thai cuisine is very distinctive because it is very aromatic, and it also very delicate because there is a need to harmonize and balance the five signature Thai taste which is spicy, salty. sour, sweet, and the bitter. A little tip over or under either the taste would completely ruin the dish. Thank God this is NOT the case with Bangkok Wok. Overall I could say that they passed and did well on my Savory Meter.

Kao Kluk Kap (Bagoong Rice)

Thank you very much to Ms. Carmina del Rosario for being a superb host. I enjoyed not only the food but also the stories and company. Indeed I went home belly full.

Bangkok Wok is located at Robinsons Cybergate Davao J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City. You can reach them at 282-1231.
